Carla Rodrigues was born on July 13, 1976 in Ovar, Portugal. She began studying classical ballet in her hometown at the age of three. At the age of eight, she attends Giselle School of Ballet with Conchita Ramirez as professor.
She got her certificates from the Royal Academy of Dancing of London till the age of fifteen.
Graduated in Portuguese / English by the University of Aveiro, in 1999, she decided to teach in Madeira in October of the same year.
As a teacher, she decided, in 2003, to create a Dance Club at Jaime Moniz High School, thus, the DancEn? Gma Club. This club has been invited to work with the Coordinating Office of Artistic Education at various times like MUSICAebs, Regional Dance Meetings, Europe Day. She has also created several choreographic works at the Jaime Moniz High School, not only solo but also in partnership with the Cinema and Theater (O Moniz – Carlos Varela) Clubs, as well as presenting other shows in several places in the region.
In 2004, she completed a Postgraduate Course in Research in Didactics.
In 2008, she finished her Master’s Degree in Multimedia in Education by the University of Aveiro.
In 2009, she decided to continue her studies by starting her PhD in Multimedia in Education, awaiting the elaboration of the thesis.
As coordinator of the Dance Club, she has attended training sessions in various areas such as contemporary dance, ballroom dancing, oriental, traditional, jazz fusion and inclusive dance, working with such names as Maurizio Padovan, Henrique Amoedo, Pedro Machado, Carla Vendramin and Colin Vieira.
In 2013, she trained Zumba® Basic 1 and Basic 2 with Ludmilla Marzano and in 2014 Zumba® Kids and Zumba® Kids Jr. with Hermann Melo.
She taught Zumba® and Zumba® Kids and Zumba® Kids Jr. classes at the Madeira Cab, Malo Clinic and Spa at the Melia Madeira Mare Hotel and the Living Funchal Health Club. She created a group of Zumba® in Quinta do Leme for the purpose of inclusion through Arts.
In September 2014, she created the Academy Artemotion – Funchal that is dedicated to training in the areas of Arts and Languages.
In 2012, she is invited by Jaime Moniz High School to be Director of the first Professional Course of Tourism, maintaining this coordination up to the moment.
In September 2016, she assumed the position of Regional Coordinator of the Artistic Area – Dance – by the Artistic and Multimedia Education Department of the Regional Secretariat for Education in Madeira.
